Okay first of all if you’ve ever seen any of the SCREAM movies, then you would agree with me when I say that this movie was terrible. Almost all around bad acting. Most of the newer cast members were so predictable and showed little to no emotion on their face during critical scenes. And please for the love of god do NOT claim the “Scary Movie” franchise as a “horror” film. AND PLEASE DO NOT COMPARE SCREAM TO SCARY MOVIE! Those movies were literally just comedic parodies of the SCREAM franchise. However, I did like that they had some of the main original cast members and that it took place in the same town and setting. But with the originals, you get more of a suspense to who the killer is. And by that I mean Wes Craven made you believe someone was the killer and completely shocked you at the reveal. Furthermore, the whole thing was just way too predictable. I knew from the time I saw Richie get “attacked” at the hospital that he was one of the killers, because as soon as Ghost face cut his arm, he left him alone for the most part, and chased after Tara. Personally, the SCREAM franchise lost a vital “piece of the puzzle” when Wes Craven died. I understand that they wanted to make a new one in his memory but I can honestly say that he would not be happy with this movie at all. He’s probably tossing and turning in his grave whenever some poor soul has to experience this painful to watch, almost agonizingly painful movie. Growing up the SCREAM movies were one of my favorite series and they still are excluding this new one. I would be happy if they remade this and actually used actors/actresses that at least looked like the emotion of their character. Not including Jenna Ortega. She was absolutely amazing.
