This movie hits the spot if you want something original and far off the mainstream path. The jokes cracked me up, loved the effects, and the campy feel.

I was extremely skeptical when I heard they were making a TV show out of the movie and using new characters. I became even more skeptical when I read about the concept of an energy vampire being introduced. Let's not forget that when shows get "Americanized" they tend to do no justice to the original series. For me, these circumstances always equates to failure. However, this show has proven me wrong! It's got a wonderful blend of wacky, dark, and dry humor. It pays homage to the original movie but is definitely its own show. I hope this show sticks around for a long time.
