Muricans don't know themselves. So they can't understand that this masterpiece explains why and how they became who they are now. This is the perfect Trump and White Supremacists antidote. But those who need it won't watch this. As usually. Is why nothing ever changes.

It is too late to redeem US, born as it was in violence and injustice, excelling as it does at systemic greed and ignorance (the latter serving the former), wrapped in a glamorous veneer of pretended superiority (incl its entertainment, media, political and judicial circus). But creations like these are a source of comfort by instilling 1 a sense of history in a robotic society 2 the hope that, theoretically at least, a revolution is still possible. I mean a gradual and non-violent one.

Worst movie ever on Netflix. Horrible acting, imbecile dialogues, usual cliche and demeaning picturing of Africans. The best actors are the (real) elephants (coz there are some special effects ones too) or even perhaps the real trees. In all the movie just serves one purpose: to demonstrate once again that USA is the most infantile and ignorant rich country in this world. I will protest to Netflix in these same terms.

I was never a fan of his music but I always did acknowledge his talent and unicity. But this movie comes close to an insult to the man. Terrible casting, acting, writing, pace, editing. I wish he could come back just to spank the team responsible for this 'navet' (turnip) as the French call it 👎

Excellent topic, realistic storyline and (thus borderline boring, improvized ?) dialogues, postcard picturing of Mexico. Sadly movies won't cbange the disgusting meat business nor the dire state of real life Mexico.

I am from the country that colonized Congo and assisted opportunists like Tshombe. Even my ignorant father was a fan of him. I was 6 but I already understood he was wrong. It sent me to work in and for Africa. At 60 my blood still boils at the dirty role Belgium France and the USA played to serve capitalist interests in a Cold War context. Honour to the Irish lads who died there. Some nations are just cleaner than others. I don't even consider big powers who are inherently brutal. But Belgium is just twice as big as Ireland. But many times more uglier in History.
