Lets compare this to the film it's trying to be, All The Presidents Men from 1976! ATPM is about two reporters exposing the Watergate Scandal, and event that sent shockwaves throughout the USA. Before the the American people had no idea of the corruption within our politics or how deep it went. Not to mention the ACTUAL danger Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein put themselves in trying to bring the story into the light. On the other hand we have She Said about the Harvey Weinstein exposure. The difference here is that LITERALLY EVERYONE IN THE WORLD knew this was going on. Celebrities & commoners, Men & Women, etc. When this was exposed, people reacted more like "duh what took you so long?" Not to mention this movie is basically a massive love letter to mainstream media in time when people were beginning to see how full of it they are. A much more interesting movie would show how the news media actually help cover up Weinstein's crimes for decades.

A sequel to one of the most unlikable characters in the MCU, not cushioned by the two biggest films in the franchise, co-starring two characters most people don't know of unless they paid for Disneys platform, released smack dab at the height of superhero fatigue, using the same played out formula even Disney admits is past it's prime, doubling down on the identity politics, and finally making it to the big screens after years of rescheduling and rewrites. What could possibly go wrong? Is there anything worth it? Well it is mercifully short compared to these other movies (though it still feels too long). And honestly i feel bad for Iman Vellani, she's clearly the only actor whose trying to make this work and having fun. She deserves better!

Pan from 2015 is a masterpiece in comparison. Ignoring the obvious identity politics they blanketed throughout this movie, it still wouldn't work because the acting is awkward, the effects are cringy, the character writing is laughable, the new twists are unsatisfying, and story overall is boring, this movie is SOOOOO boring. I cant even say that it's enjoyably bad.

The story's nonsensical, the acting is awkward, the characters are laughable & unlikeable, and the even the redeeming qualities are meh at best. And yeah the biggest problem is what you've probably already heard. I try so hard not to drop the W-word but there's really no avoiding it. It's tragic that so many movies and shows nowadays have the exact same problem and refuse to recognize it. This is what happens when you put activism before the the show itself. Also, Director X? Really!?!?!

Remember the Disney Star Wars trilogy where they took Luke Skywalker, a beloved character who inspired an entire generation and perfectly withstood the test of time, then turned him into a weak, bitter, hobo-looking old geezer? Then some woman played by a British "actress" comes in to basically insult, surpass, and even abuse him in every way. And every five minutes the story has to tell you how much better she is then him. Seriously Disney, there's copy-and-pasting, and then there's just cloning! At least with Rey the character herself didn't act like a smug narcissistic jerk. The first 10 minutes aren't bad (the de-aging CGI is a little rough though) and actually give you some hope this might be a fun and respectable re-quel, but i recommend walking out immediately afterwards.
