Mulan the Disney Animated 4.5/5 but this Live Action version 2/5 and that’s me trying not to hate how “Hallmark Channel” this movie felt. Considering the budget spent I was very disappointed in the directors vision, the bad action and choreography and especially the bad 2001 CGI they allowed to happen in this movie. From the floating feet running up the walls as if this was a John woo over used wire harness while floating when jumping, to the awkward silence moments that made the movie probably waste 15 minutes of the story, and the poorly used and placed CGI moments, this movie just failed to make me or my family love this version of Mulan. It was so bad we shut it off when she saved the emperor and decided to save our love of mulan by watching the animated one all over so we could forget this mess of a movie that was more of a cash grab than them actually putting care into honoring the story of mulan. Just by reading other reviews you can tell who’s a paid reviewer or has a stake in its success. But look at its ratings by its actual viewers and you can see the disappointment. It’s pretty obvious.
