This show takes you for a fool. There is no consistency regarding whatever is making the zombies infection/virus or otherwise. Shows scenes of someone being bitten and turning seconds later only to later watch a main character become bitten and spend minutes fighting the zombie who bit them for dramatic effect instead of remaining realistic. When someone dies in this they turn in a matter of seconds. We are shown somehow the “virus” I’m going to call it, because they are turning after dying, is able to move a human body with ease after losing blood pressure and sustaining multiple broken bones after being hit by a car. As well as turning every other human slowly into a paranoid schizophrenic because it just does not convey survival mentality but a more rabid one instead the way they behave. Beyond that these zombies are given basic intelligence , Like what a door is but not quite what a doorknob is or how to use one. In the second season they are in a very cold place and we see an individual come across zombies frozen in the snow who can’t move yet the other characters in the house seem to have a zombie that won’t freeze overnight and the day before while outside. It just doesn’t make sense and really stretches the suspension of disbelief way too far to the point where there was a scene in the first season where “Spears” is at the stadium entranceway and sacrifices himself to let the others make their way to the gate where there are at least fifty other humans between them and the gate. Mind you this gate has no lock on it or even slide mechanism to lock the gates together. However the fifty humans in front of them are somehow fighting zombies in front of them and between everyone and the gate almost as if we are led to believe the zombies started at the gate and never seem to have been able to open it even once because at the end we see only three people make it past the gate. Spears and the other two characters are maybe 100 yards away from this gate when we see spears make his sacrifice for the group and hold a line from the opposite direction of the gate as we see roughly 5-10 zombies running at him approx 10 feet away when he gets into a hold with the zombie for at least 15 seconds and then we see the bridge view again (because of course the camera was turned away from this horde approaching him and zoomed in to only two heads in the frame so we couldn’t see what was going on) in the direction away from the gate towards the previous incoming 5-10 zombies. However we see all of those zombies happened to luckily have despawned on him and there is an entirely new group of zombies approaching him from now 20 feet away instead. Somehow letting all of that go and letting suspension of disbelief reign we are let to believe Sun and the Mother successfully made the entire 100 yard trek to the gate with fifty humans/zombies in the way while spears held the line at 100 yards away having his close up taken with the 15 second long solo he got mind you no other humans make it through this gate beside spears sun and the mom. They start the trek with a fourth who is injured and can’t walk who only seconds in falls and says leave him at least being smart enough to have the mom take no time at all to headshot him to prevent him from turning but then they all stood around while Sun was the only one who started doing anything again and shot at the incoming horde. To set us up, we had 50ish zombies/humans in front of you towards the gate and a seemingly unending stream of zombies coming from the other direction towards the gate. But they make it to the gate with literally no resistance or people left alive. 1/5
