I loved this book; the first non-fiction travel/adventure book I've read for a very long time and it had me totally hooked from the start. It is so easy to read, suspenseful, colourful and truly authentic.
As an Aus/NZ woman who has always imagined this kind of adventure as well as loving solitude... and animals; it really captured my imagination.
What made it most authentic for me was the way the author constantly had the courage to express her inner most fears, emotions and and self- sabotaging esteem issues, so prevalent in us all yet mostly hidden... at least to most. That takes courage... and she has plenty of it.
Learning from self-reflection was a great part of it, and the resolute, yet dignified stances when being pushed way beyond the pale was much appreciated.
Thanks for taking me on a wonderful adventure for a few days Paula!
