I wouldn’t compare this game to Zelda. It’s got it’s own charm, but there’s too much dry and confusing dialogue in it to capture my attention. The puzzles are really easy for a game meant for a teenage-adult audience. The characters are pretty one-dimensional. I keep thinking this game is going to turn dark and twisted but it never does. It’s not quite a “cozy” game, but it’s easy enough to be one.
That being said, the art, ambiance, character design, and music is a treasure. I love the little Easter eggs and nods to pop culture. So far I’ve noticed Miyazaki and Earthbound references. It takes place during the calm, rebuilding period sometime in the future after an apocalypse, which I love. I love how all the characters have their own individual animation, which I think is so charming. But unfortunately that’s all the good things I have to say about the game.
Some things they could’ve improved on: adding more voice acting, less/cleaned up dialogue, perhaps head shots of the characters faces/expressions while speaking (similar to in Stardew), more challenging puzzles/battles, crafting,
