I typically look forward to the different baking championship shows but this past Spring Baking Championship was a huge disappointment. Not only did a not very talented baker win (which looked so contrived I have to admit I thought it may have been predetermined based on other factors besides baking skills??) but the extra nonsense going on really distracted from the wonders of true baking skills being showcased. Duff and Nancy looked like they were put in their respective corners and told to heel. I didn't particularly like Loraine Pascal but they should be front and center. I thought some very talented bakers got sent home too early and others who put out mediocre items stayed. Again, felt like there was an agenda here. Rome was clearly the most talented baker there. I know he left because he was offended by having to deal with sprinkles. Can't blame him. Sprinkles are insulting when you have that high level of skill.
