MW2 feels a bit like a gutted version of MW2019 that's been polished to look neat. Improvements upon what was introduced in the game's predecessor are few (eg the ability to choose if you want scorestreaks or killstreaks), the majority of available features feel like what we got in 2019, at best, and at worst it feels like a cheap imitation.
The overall UI for the game looks poorly thought out and often freezes or gets bugged in some fashion. The menus and progression system is difficult and annoying to navigate, making loadout customisation between matches stressful; On top of this, some items seem to be bugged to the point of remaining locked indefinitely (this will most likely get patched, but still).
This iteration of Call of Duty also features considerably more noise than before, with footsteps being quite loud, and every scorestreak entering the map with an ear shattering bang, of course accompanied by the announcer shouting at the top of their lungs the name of the streak.
The game features a new perk system that locks two perks behind a timer, one of the available perks of this type is probably THE most powerful iteration of Ghost we've seen to date.
On top of all this, the game just feels rushed. Infinity Ward had MW2 in development since 2018, meaning this is one of few cod games that's gotten more than 2 years worth of dev time; So how can it be THIS BAD?!
TDLR: Infinity ward tries and fails to reinvent the wheel. MW2 is littered with bugs, glitches and performance issues. Fails to live up to the hype, and underperforms when compared to MW2019.
