this book had me STRESSED. i loved every second. i was immediately enthralled by the story. i truly appreciate this book. it’s definitely a good one. im always on the lookout for black female horror/thriller authors, out of all the ones ive read, this one is high up there for me. i see some people complaining about it not being super fast paced. which halfway through i sorta felt the same way. HOWEVER i liked the plot enough to push through. it was a slow build for a reason. it’s in the title ‘when no one is watching’ this book literally lulled me into a false sense of security then ripped the rug out from under me in a couple pages. i GENUINELY forgot i was reading a thriller for a second. i enjoyed the sudden twist and realization of what was going on after slowly building up to it. idk the ppl hating on it being “slow” and “boring” are missing out. thank you alyssa cole for a good read
