It has a great message, gorgeous graphics and amazing character design as well as very children friendly !!! The rest is not so great though ... A lot of the songs were very out of place and used as a way to skip dialogue between characters, making a lot of their relationships and interactions really forgetful and overall meaningless. There wasn't much room for obvious character development for any of the cast because half if the time it was spent singing popular songs of the period instead of truly delving into their feelings and the problems at hand. The main characters' love was because of their shared hatred of 'cute' stuff and 'love' and fell in love because they were both edgy and sang somewhat alternative (rock). That itself isn't necessarily wrong with not having a petite little damsel as the main character but it was the way they chose to demonstrate her character that made her slightly annoying. I see that they were trying to have a strong female lead but she was spending so much time singing instead of talking that her toughness is really not shown through well and appears more as a rebellious phase than her true personality whilst not being blindsided by love. It would have been an easy 10 star movie had it had original music and actual dialogue between characters that got the message through. It definitely had very cute and funny moments but its still not enough to recommend it to anyone. ☹️
