Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed this film. The settings/scenery were stunning, both interior and exterior. I respectfully disagree with the critics of the lighting; I imagine that the 1830s in the evening and nighttime were darker than we of the 21st century are used to (due to the absence of artificial/electric lighting) and this film was true to that immutable fact. Also, the frequent accent of the winter snow in both day and night scenes seemed to soften the effect of the darkness one might otherwise expect to see at that time of the year.
And of course, the plot development and reconciliation was a stunner.
But I was most taken by the acting, especially Christian Bale and Harry Melling. Bale needs no introduction but I recognized Melling almost immediately from his memorable performance in "The Legend of Buster Scruggs" (a Coen brothers film) in the segment with Liam Neeson. Just stunning - then and here.
A film worth viewing and worthy of awards.
