As one who taught in a boarding school, I find much of what happens in The Holdovers quite realistic, if somewhat exaggerated in places. The three main characters are excellent in their roles, and the early 1970s ethos of the place looks right on target. The scenes and events in Boston are the best.

It’s great. An all star cast with beautiful costumes, settings, music, with a plot running very close to Jules Verne’s novel. It may appear to be long at around three hours, but the story moves quickly from scene to scene, and the original version has an intermission. Don’t miss this classic!

Very very very funny still. I saw it first at age 15 in 1963. Fantastic cast.
