Watching this series, I was overwhelmed by the authenticity of the characters, the locations and the war/fight scenes. The character development is very well done, and the fear and passion is palpable. It was refreshing to see actors whom I had never seen before. The show made me want to delve into the history of Medievel England and visit castles and explore the countryside. I know it wasn’t filmed in England, but it still made me feel that I was transported there. I am amazed that more people are not talking about this series, considering the popularity of the Game of Thrones saga. This show pulled no punches when it came to death, despair, greed, religion and honor and at the end of the last episode, I was moved and wish it could have gone on for longer. Watching the soldiers fighting for survival during the last battle was incredible. It put a lot of major motion pictures to shame. You could feel the raw emotion emanating from the characters as they fought for survival in pursuit of their cause. The series definitely builds as it progresses with final season being the best for me. I will definitely miss this series.
