I gave the show 2 stars because the production value is good. That said it lost 3 stars due to the abysmal story telling and the lack of many key plot elements. Nothing at all is explained like it is in the Tencent adaptation. The Netflix version feels like one huge 'Chaotic era'

As a non-Mandarin speaking person i sat down wondering if the dialogue will be too much to keep up with but it is actually quite good. I think this movie has everything that has been missing from sci-fi movies for quite some time. Visually i felt this movie was amazing, only some of the CGI looked bad, most notably the vehicles. However the environment looked absolutely stunning, especially given the budget for this movie i felt in this department is was way better than anything Hollywood can produce for a similar amount. The story was a solid 9/10 for me with many unpredictable twists. All in all i will rate this movie right up there with Interstellar as equal best sci-fi movie of all time. I never thought i would see a movie to match Interstellar so soon, but here we are a few years later with a Chinese space epic no less.
