The book was a 3, and the movie is a 2. We start out the gate with changing the ENTIRE narrative of Coriolanus. He never wanted to be a politician. He didn’t want to follow in his father’s footsteps. That’s the whole point. He’s an unwilling participant who gets corrupted by a system to maintain power and control so it’s not used against him. Peacekeepers are not permitted to fraternize with people in the districts. That’s why he and Lucy are sneaking around all the time. Lucy herself felt… kind of flat. They made her more “palatable” and less like a woman who only seeks her freedom no matter what it costs anyone else (except her family). The book is dense and is slow, but somehow they made it even more boring??? This is one of those that should have just stayed a book. No money grab.
