I had heard a lot about Gurudutt Sahab’s masterpieces like Pyaasa, CID Kaagaz ke Phool etc but it was only after watching CHUP, I decided to watch his movies and started with Pyaasa, it left me in deep thoughts that how things shown in that movie is even so relevant today’s time and thought this would had been the best he offered in his career until I watched Kaagaz Ke Phool and believe me what a masterpiece it is, surely was much ahead of its time as said by most of the cinema lovers. I believe, a sense of maturity is needed to feel the concept of this cult classic. From screenplay to the introduction of cinemascope to the Indian cinema, class acting and most of all, the direction of the movie, it is surely one of the best movie created in the history of Indian Cinema. It is important to watch this movie from the director’s lens who was great GuruDutt Sahab himself and enjoy this cult classic.
