This was a great book. I read it twice. But the movie is so emotionally and creatively bankrupt, I couldn’t wait for it to be over.
Clooney had a fine career as an actor. But directors can’t hide behind their looks.
There’s no character development. There’s no tension. There’s no antagonist. And there are no obstacles (except when one team member gets sick, which is resolved when he’s magically not sick anymore with no explanation.)
It’s painfully predictable and an absolute shrug to the real people it’s based on.
Boo. 0 stars.
