This was a sweet story filled with sadness and ultimately redemption for a group of multigenerational women in a small town in Ireland in the early sixties. Beautifully acted with restraint by Maggie Smith, Cathy Bates and Laura Linney. I always appreciate movies that don't have any violence or bloodshed or gun battles. There was an authenticity to this story that I found very refreshing.
