anyone rating this movie poorly is more likely than not white, conservative and racist. i’ve watched this movie three times since its opening night (i’ve never watched a movie more than once in the span of such little time in my entire life) and it has easily become one of my top comfort films, and one of my favorite films in general. the soundtrack is addicting, i listened to it nonstop for two weeks straight. each and every song is so fresh, vibrant and mesmerizing. halle bailey’s voice alone made me cry about four times — she’s absolutely magnificent as ariel, no one could have played her better. her vocals were just stunning. and the rest of the cast shine just as bright!! they were all born to play their respective roles. kudos to everyone involved in this brilliant, magical movie :) watching it made my inner child so insanely giddy and proud. it truly deserves all the praise. i can’t wait to show my own kids someday!
