Very disappointing production. The first episode was good but rapidly downhill after that albeit the Thenardiers were good. Dominic West started well but became more and more unconvincing. Inspector Javert was a disaster as were the last 2 episodes. The version with Liam Neeson and Geoffrey Rush is better but there is no substitute for reading the book.

I went expecting to love it. I left wondering how on Earth it had got any positive reviews. I went as part of a group of 15. No one liked it. Some went to sleep as they were so bored. The story is very thin. The acting pedestrian and the film lacks any magic or real fun. But it is still better than Nativity 4.
