Dolly knocks it out of the park! While it is true that there are a bunch of misfires on this album, there are just as many gems. Besides those two groupings, Dolly is having great fun singing a collection of pop and rock classics that we can all sing along to. Her voice, at 77, has rarely sounded better. She even hits notes her long time fans haven't heard before. The seriousness with which she undertook this project speaks volumes as to who she is as an artist. I think she deserves accolades for not making this into a vanity project but as serious work to be considered. She didn't need to record a rock album to be a rock star. She was already a rock star when she was inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame in 2022. As the reigning queen of country music, we all knew she could rock. And now we have the proof.
