I can finally say I cried in a Godzilla movie. Several times. That’s how impactful the story telling is in this movie. I grew up as a Godzilla fan appreciating the many types of films produced showing Godzilla in a variety of ways BUT let me tell you….this movie, is hands down my favorite out of ALL of them. The story telling, the characters, the way they show Godzilla as a true monster, the depth in how deep this movie cuts you to the heart on some heavy topics, when Godzilla is present you’re seriously afraid of what he might do, you’re invested in the characters finally and actually care what happens to them. Excellent film! Seriously incredible. I’ll be in the theaters if another film is produced as a sequel to this…I’m still in awe and I’ll be buying the movie when it’s available.

Why the heck does this movie have a low rating?! This movie is awesome!!! So well made, great action, great dialogue, gritty, stakes are high, the bad guys are actually….wait shocker….BAD. There are some beautiful scenes and the acting is fantastic. The threat is familiar yet presented in a more intense and heavy fashion. What seems to be the main villain in the story is actually a sicko, really evil, which is great and refreshing to have a true villain not these redeeming baby villains that are stupid now and days. The diversity in the group of those on the quest is fantastic, you can tell they have different skills, hold different values, and are united against a common enemy. The Cgi in certain parts seem a little less than really huge films out there but give me a break it’s still a great movie and I’m excited for this series to see where it goes. Thankfully it’s not in the hands of Disney because they’d screw it up let’s be real. I love that this is a new series that can be fantasy, sci fi, and have high stakes. And I appreciate that it’s PG-13 so we don’t have to worry about butts showing up every 30min. Great series! Excited to see where it goes. Well done Zach Snyder!
