Clearly people either loved this film or hated it. I hated it. Colin Farrell is a good actor in a bad movie..And the biggest crime was taking a very good looking man & making him look gross & unappealing for pretty much the entire movie. I just kept waiting for something to happen, some kind of twist, a reason to watch this film. In a nutshell , it was a depressing story about a gambling addict with no entertainment value (which BTW is the reason most of us watch movies). I couldn't even appreciate the cinematography the 5 star reviews raved about. I wish I'd read the reviews before I wasted my precious time watching this dud.

This movie was grreat! The one star reviewers seem to take themselves WAY too seriously. I laughed harder at some of the more subtle jokes, but really funny overall. Very impressed with the talent; including the amazing costumes & set designers. The performances by some of the actors impersonating well known personalities of the era were amazing. Really enjoyed this very clever movie.
