One star for the cat and Weller - the rest is just a shameless attempt to shoehorn a film about race into a WW2 drama. Embarrassing. And the film got a lot of public money which is even more embarrassing but at the same time explains everything.

Really wanted to like this - i saw it when it first came out but i was a lot younger then. Saw it again tonight - 35 years later - and it's still very bad. Slow moving, boring characters. Branagh is hammy.
