Much ado about nothing. An indian Nepalis film directed and produced by Anmol Gurung and Ruden Lepcha respectively from Kalimpong, India. The film's insta postmade me go to a cinema hall for a story i thought would be new but to my utter disappointment it was a boring story which was vmarketed very well. i must say i felt cheated!
Good 👍 👍👍- Darjeeling, Sandakphu, Kalimpong and Mt Kanchenjunga was shot well. Music by Anmol Gurung was catchy and the song "Sanjh pare pachi"is a song which i still hum in the evening 😁. Daya Hang Rai who played the title role Appa (father)was commendable. He bears the load of all the heavy acting in the film. I could relate to his acting. it looked real and effortless.
Appa's marketing team did a fantastic job. Im sure it made good money in the box office as it was well received in multi plexes of India in Delhi, Kolkata and Siliguri by the Nepali speaking people and all credit should be given to their social media marketing team. A very well promoted film.
Bad 👎👎👎: Weak story line, dialogues andacting by Siddhant
director, writer Anmol Gurung paid
too much attention to market the film then on the story. There are places in the movie which looks unreal like for example the clause given by the school authorities to Appa to not meet his son Siddant till he fineshes his school.
Allona could not act in a scene where she had to reject Sid's love.
debutants Siddhant Raj Tamang looked trying hard all across the film. Also there was an uneased hurry to finish the film. it ends on a very abrupt note.
It could have been better.
PS:this film definitely opened the door for other indian Nepali film makers and to tell stories from Darjeeling, Sikkim and this region.
