I think that overall it was waste of time. I felt that the whole thing are about a mother who is living in insecurity. Who does not feel safe because she was born a certain way that is different from others we all feel the same way. America is not the rest of the world what happens there from injustice or the degradation of equality rights is not the rest of the world. I'm not taking sides on this but definitely the mother was obsessed her whole life based on tough upbringing and tough neighborhood. That results in this overreaction at the beginning. And they pictured the white cop to be unethical and not sympathetic towards the situation I don't think that this scenario happens on real life.
