I played Eve 10 yrs ago and it was a great game then allowing you to choose the level of risk you took. High sec space was the place to grind away at missions while you developed your skills and earn't enough isk to upgrade your ships. Joining a coalition meant you could go into low spec space and join with other players in massive battles.All good fun and allowed you to choose your path and risk level. Now we come to 2023 and thought I'd dip my toe into it again, and it's changed, not for the better, high sec space is now just as dangerous as low sec because scammers are allowed to kill ships and then extort isk from the players they killed in order to be able to continue playing. That makes the game pointless, unless of course you see paying bullies as just part of the game. Personally I have always and will always slap down any bully that tries it on, so with this being allowed I cannot recommend the game to anyone, in fact I'd go as far to say avoid it at all costs.
