It’s supposed to be based on a true story. But they literally changed everything from who in her family defiled her, where the house was located, the age of the victims, relationship of the victims is supposed to be child siblings, the fact that “the girl in the closet” was only in an actual closet for 4 days not 6 years. The mom never looked for her daughter. Only asked DFCS to go investigate. The mom changed her mind about the aunt so quick with zero character development. There were so many people at the girl’s party who would’ve been candidates to care for her kid far before her sister. They never explained what the sister did to her but I know her family and friends knew not to let Mia watch her kid even for one day let alone 3 weeks. And there’s no way a black mother sends her child to bed with no bonnet on her head AND that child wakes up with not a curl out of place, no bows missing? Not a chance!!
