Yes, this represents a challenging time in the life of Jeremy Camp, but that is not the point of the movie. I too have asked God to do things and my request seemed to fall on deaf ears. We are not God and we do not see the big picture but the fact is life is but a vapor. Even a long life of 100 years is but a snap of finger compared to eternity and we should cherish every moment we have. We all go through trials in life but we need to hold onto the fact that God is still there. Like the 3 boys in the fire said in Daniel, "God is more than capable of saving us from the flames, but even if the doesn't we will never bow our knee to man." Jeremy went through the fire and still trusts God!
