The most fascinating memoir I've ever read. This book is required reading for anyone seeking to understand US racial, feminist and activist history. The most amazing true story of an incredible person, brilliant and defiant, imaginative and poised. She was the future: a female POC lawyer who took part in Gandhi inspired lunchroom anti segregation protests - in the 1940's during WW2!! I had no idea those happened! How they were shut down is a shame and slowed down the civil rights movement by decades. She knew Eleanor Roosevelt. Met with her and they had a correspondence (letters and editorials) on race issues that were groundbreaking!! And that's just the beginning. I really hope someone amazing like @JanelleMonae turns her life into a series. Not a movie. A series.
