1.5/5
Mamoa has presence and Dafoe is a nice casting inclusion but any pleasure that could be derived from the performance of these two is quickly extinguished by a film drowning in CGI. Aquaman, at times, wants to be Nolan's batman but is beset by nonsensical plot devices and confusing genre trips (an octopus playing giant sea bongos maybe the proverbial jumping of the shark). Fun and thrilling at times, but overall, struggles to overcome a thin plot and a tendency to explode rather than explore.
