As a big Caleb Hearon fan, I turned this movie on to see his performance after hearing him promote it. Now that I’ve seen the film, I am totally surprised at some of the negative reviews! This movie is well acted with a gut wrenching and intriguing story line. I am typically a big horror junkie so this is not the typical genre I indulge in, but I am so glad I watched it. I feel like it’s wrong to say I “enjoyed” this movie, as it was a devastating story about trauma, depression, death, and isolation. But I was definitely invested in the plot and certain scenes evoked powerful feelings within me which is what art is meant to do. Between the overarching bleak storyline, there were themes of resilience, friendship, strength, and love. Definitely a slow burn too which I typically don’t like but I was invested in this so I didn’t mind. I’m glad I watched and I would recommend it.
