I watched Sex and the City through out and after high school until I had seen every episode. I also went to the movies to see the movies. Todayโs young girls will never get to understand what it was to look up to these ladies! They were FABULOUS, smart, witty, and edgy for their time which women were lacking back in the early 2000s on television. I mean, it was New York. That being said, I finally sat down to watch this because I had been afraid to, and clearly for good reason. It was like a bad car wreck I couldnโt stop watching. They should have left this alone. Perhaps if it had been done right, I would change my mind, but they have ruined the characters for me. Not only is it sad to see Samantha gone, but I canโt turn on a new show these days without the cast being so โwokeโ itโs overdone and agendas shoved in our faces at every turn. I donโt care how you feel politically, plug it once and then let me watch my show. You canโt even enjoy them! Trying to shove so much of it in every episode is all itโs about. I understand diversifying your cast a little but be about it donโt talk about it! Mirandaโs real life actress is a lesbian so I get feeling free enough these days to turn her character, but she was VERY sure she was straight this entire time until now. And killing off Big broke my heart. Itโs one thing to be funny and add comedy, but Carrie was literally more upset after the โnon weddingโ and they split up than when he was DEAD. It was all just so cringy. All of it. It should have been the same witty, sexy, fun characters but in their 50โs dealing with things 50 year olds deal with.
