As a recently retired chiropractor, I'd like to advise the general public and Channel Seven that spinal surgeon Mr John Cunningham has long been regarded as an attention-seeking, alarmist 'serial pest' by the profession. Mr Cunningham cannot back his wild assertions with any recent peer-reviewed published research. He doesn't seem to realise or care that there is actually a sub-specialty within his own medical profession called 'manual medicine', and that the German paediatric researcher and manual medicine champion Heiner Biedermann published his medical text, 'Manual Therapy in Children', only in the last decade. This so-called 'medical text' very closely appropriates and approximates chiropractic paediatric theory and practice which has been in existence for well over a century. Cunningham has long been a strident and vocal member of the tiny, fanatical skeptic-backed medical dominance group 'Friends of Science in Medicine', which has for many years actively sought to have all university-based 'natural healthcare' professions removed totally from the university systems in Australia, often by directly intimidating University administrators.
