The opening minute is the best part about this movie. It’s basically the recorded footage of Sarah Conner in the mental hospital from T2 (just highlights how flawless a movie that was). The 3rd minute is perhaps the worst, but necessary for the set up to the rest of the movie. It quickly reshapes its past and future then develops into a new and fresh story. If T2 was erased from my memory I’d probably give this movie a 4 or 5 star review, but all Terminator movies will inevitably be compared to the original two.
Terminator has always resonated on a deeper level as a warning about a possible future, I think the thing thats missing is the sense that everything taking part is for a greater future purpose and for the good of all humankind.
