"Replica" was a one-time watch for me. I have immense regard for Keanu Reeves, both for his acting and personal life, so I was excited to see him in this film. While the movie started with some promise, it ultimately turned out to be forgettable. Other reviewers seem to share my view.
Several parts of the film didn't add up, and the CGI, especially the robot's movements, was disappointingly cheap. The film had multiple plot loopholes that gave it a low-budget sci-fi vibe, which is rarely a good combination. This made the movie less engaging and failed to draw me in completely.
The acting was also subpar, particularly from the actress playing Keanu's wife. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this film to anyone. There are at least ten other sci-fi movies I'd suggest over this one. Despite the intriguing idea of cloning and transferring consciousness, the execution fell short. The concept had potential, but the film did not do it justice.
