Absolutely loved this whole saga. Already a Bernard Cornwell fan anyway after The Archer and all The Sharpe stories but this lives right up there with the other two. Would happily recommend it confident that my recommendation is totally justified

Another great epic. Starts a bit faster than the Julius Cesar Series and really had me hooked by the end. This is the first book in presumably another series. Early days but it's looking as though it will be on the same level as Julius Cesar and Genghis Khan Series. Can't wait to see how the Athenians fare after fleeing the Persians and abandoning their city.
