NO SPOILER (don't worry)
There's no doubt that this book was gripping in the first 50 pages. I believe Chbosky did a great job propeling the story forward in a suspensful way. There was a point where I was scared to turn the pages, but I've never read a book so fast in my life. The characters are written in such a personal way, that's it's almost like 1st person writing. The use of "Baby teeth" "daddy" " Like the Girl in the painted nails" "Clouds" "hissing" Were all genious in my opinion. The reucurring use of these words, mostly given their own line become so odly chilling. There was a point where the aspects of the story become so... all-over-the-place, that it was like I was reading the story through his eyes. I felt so sorry for Christopher and his mother and Mary Katherine. I noticed that the hissing lady and other characters got little to no description. I appreciated this because I got to use my own imagination to think about how they looked. Over all I would strongly recommend this book. It's a wild read!
