This review is based from a video game and the movies standpoint.
In the series all it takes to break into one of the most secure Umbrella facilities in the world is a pair of 14 year old girls with a cell phone and flashlights. In one scene access is granted by voice and facial recognition, a few scenes later all it takes is voice recognition. The end of the world was brought on by a couple of moody teens who used scooters as their form of transportation to commit their break in.
Then Albert Wesker (played well by Lance Reddick) a very powerful protagonist in the previous games and movies is controlled by his own children and made to look mild & weak. Like the parent who doesn't believe in punishing their kid after their kid does something serious.
In another episode Umbrellas firewall is hacked by a highschool skater. Umbrellas is supposed to be the most powerful entity in the world yet it can be bypassed by children.
Zombies are not zombies, they are called "zeros", oh and they're "not actually dead". *Facepalm*. If its not broken, don't fix it.
The back story is ok. I do like that the chairman is played by Paola Nuñez.
The characters are made to be naive and woke, so if you've never seen any Resident Evil movies or games you may enjoy this.
With so many plot holes, failed attempts at inserting comedy, and not sticking somewhat to the original, it has failed. I made it to episode 4 before I couldn't go any further. Two thumbs down.
