Certainly different, but perhaps trying too hard to be different for its own good. Some good moments ( particularly monkey related) , but just didn't come together for me. For me the soundtrack, as with US, just proved a distraction and detracted from the film. Style over substance and it just lacked the entertainment to make it a 'return to' film. The message of the film just didn't break through. The 'message' of the film ,no matter what it is or how obvious or subtle it may come across, must be delivered through its entertainment and never detract from it. The film shouldn't hinge on a message it should hinge on entertainment..Two and a half stars.
