The book had educated me on the history of Nigeria post independence until the end of the Biafran war in 1970. The story through the eye of the characters makes it easy follow, plus it is mixed with emotions throughout the book. I was heartbroken especially in the end when Kainene went missing. In closing, I'd say that justice, equity, fairness, rule of law and common sense is crucial in any society, and lack of those put Nigeria in the unfortunate situation it passed through and its going through. Thanks to this book. I have an open mind towards the civil war and the coups. More power to your elbow Chimamada , great peice of work!
