Must watch the docuseries The Curious Case of Natalia Barnett. Featuring Jacob Barnett (who this book is about) and Michael Barnett (his Dad) and Natallia Barnett (their adoptive, sister & daughter respectively). At the time, Natalia was a severely handicapped, 8 year old, tiny little girl. She has a rare form of dwarfism and club feet. As the story unfolds, Michael tells the stories of how they had petitoned a court to have her reaged to 22 (when Natalia was 9) and all the reasons why, then they moved Natalia to an apt. left her and they moved to Canada, after she was reaged to 22. In the series after a criminal investigation ensues, eventual DNA tests, multiple other tests, original birth certicate, her birth Mom's testimony, dental records prove she was 8-9 at the time. Which some of those tests were requested (dental records) and signed off on by Kristine Barnett before she is reaged, as is shown in the series. Jacob and Michael also say in the series they witnessed Kristine beat and abuse Natalia. Natalia as an adult states she was whipped, pepper sprayed and tortued there by Kristine and her sons drop her. Jacob says his Mom told him to pee on Natalia's bed when he was a kid as a form of punishment to Natalia. A must watch!
