Not sure why most of the reviews below look like troll accounts or spam, but here’s a review from a non-troll. I read and loved the book. The movie Totally butchered the tone and simplicity of the suspense from the book. Added a lot of over the top, corny, and unnecessary twists. Was so disappointed after enjoying the book. The adult character of Ruth was one of my favorites in the book and switching that to another teenage POV in the movie removed the gravitas and dignity with which Ruth handled herself in the book. Read the book and skip the movie.
