I do not write movie reviews but this movie was all over the place. The way they brought the demon into play made it seem like it was supposed to be a comedy horror. What I mean by comedy horror, I mean the way the demon talked and acted. Like as I supposed to laugh? Be scared? The poor script writing with the lines was so cringy listening to a demon that’s supposed to be all terrifying screaming that her kid didn’t love her, am I the only one that got annoyed by that? Like that’s all you could think of to say? Why did the women performing the deliverance die? And the mom had to finish it really didn’t make any sense to me, I know it’s based off a true story so I guess I have to look into the real story but definitely not a fan. Another thing I didn’t understand, the mom was messed up but beating her head multiple times on the basement concrete would do some damage not just a messed up face. This movie overall just annoyed me on the cheesy plot. The only thing I would give it one star for was the attempt to build a captivating plot, at the start learning the characters and the background with the father being away and the mom trying to keep it together but seemingly messing everything up lost it for me. The acting at the scene when the DTS worked was asking the kids about their bruises just annoyed me, they couldn’t have thought of anything else for the kids to say? The negligence of the mother was just annoying.
