Good movie, history, biography. Bale good as Cheney. But! Script creates a dilemma crucial to the history: did Cheney order NORAD to "stand down" or "shot down" hijacked passenger jets? My research has always found him ordering stand down. The movie plays otherwise, i.e., shoot down. (None of the jets was shot down, evidence of what he ordered actually. Plus the record.) Why this curious departure from an otherwise accurate history? Because his order to stand down, actual, is evidence of him being in cahoots with the hijackers.
