This movie was disappointing. Right from the start, I did not like Pharrell narrating. Even though his songs are catchy, that doesn’t mean his speaking voice is good enough to play an important part of the story. I also think that the rap song, which I can only assume was a poor attempt to modernize a classic story, was annoying and out of place, simply not fitting with the story. There were no standout moments. It was dull and cannot compete with the original or the 2000 version. I doubt this will be a go to Christmas movie for most people. Classics are classics for a reason. Leave well enough alone. Total thumbs down from my family!
