What a wonderful Valentine's Day discovery! The true love story between author Christopher Isherwood and the (younger) artist Don Bachardi, documented through the years so lovingly with letters, home movies, photos and art. Isherwood wrote "Berlin Diary," in between the Wars, living in Weimar Germany. The book was later turned into them musical and Oscar best picture, "Cabaret."
The documentary spends time with Bachardi in the Los Angeles home he and Isherwood shared for 40 years, then traces their lives together from the beginning, meeting on the beach in Santa Monica when Bachardi was a handsome teen ager.
You're left with the warm feelings of a love relationship so well spent, between to different people who took the chance to make each other happy for the rest of their lives. Highly recommended, fun and easy to like, then love.
