I'm so upset that I hadn't heard about this show sooner. It's been missing from my life 8 months longer than it should have been! This was so fresh and funny. It leverages the sort of the thought-driven humor that I appreciate. I honestly cannot say I've seen anything this unique and refreshing since watching the Eddie Murphy Saturday Night Live tape from the 90s. Where's the Emmy???

Ok. I haven't been able to update my favorite movie list for the past 20 or so years. When I say, this movie fulfilled me, I am not exaggerating. This needs a stronger word than "masterpiece". How does a legit comedy take you from gut busting laughs to snotty-nosed tears? Who raised this mad genius that is Taika Waititi? Give his mama an Oscar, too!

There's a YouTube video titled: "The Last Airbender: A Case Study". It summarizes everything wrong with this movie - which is frankly too multitudinous to spell out here. The existence of this movie should really justify the ability to rate something as "0 stars" and I don't say that lightly. This is one reboot that I actually look forward to seeing. And I hope they listen to the actual creators this time. Hell... let THEM make it!

Despite my first impressions, I actually liked it overall. The mysteries kept you on the edge of your seat and the pay-offs were pretty good. I especially like the reversal of the assumptions you made about the show based off the first scene. That was a nice surprise. The ending was my only complaint. Knowing this was based off a Novella, I expected this to wrap up in one season, but the final scene is obviously a set up for a second season that never came. But I think you will also enjoy this ride overall if you're a sci-fi fan.

I don't usually watch these kinds of movies but I must say that I fell in love. I had no choice! It was beautiful through and through. I don't speak Shakespeare nor have I seen a play other than the usual Elementary holiday specials, but one doesn't need to be a history major to appreciate this. The performances were beautiful, especially Chamalet's. The slow start definitely paid off in Act II as I was on the edge of my seat, wound with suspense. Just a really amazing story all-around. The pre-battle speech had me holding back tears! Powerful acting, powerful writing, just powerful!
